Private equity investment or direct investment ("PE") is an alternative investment platform, which is operated under China Merchants Securities International Company Limited ("CMSI"). We focus on private equity investment through our principal investment and PE funds with more than US$150 million of assets under our management.
Our Direct Investment Department consists of talents from a wide variety of professional backgrounds with solid experiences and track records in private equity investments, as well as execution experience in business development and management across various industries.
We provide target companies with equity capital and well-rounded financial services. We aim to enhance the profitability of investee companies by the extensive network of CMSI and the leveraging the expertise and resources of China Merchants Group across various industries, and to create additional value and opportunities above and beyond the financial capital.
Our investment strategies are:
- Identify undervalued mid-market companies with leading market positions and unique competitiveness in selected sectors and with secular growth and macro policy support;
- Locating high-growth targets with proven business models & differentiated strategies, attractive growth stories with track records and strong financial fundamentals; and
- Focusing on post-investment value creation by optimizing capital structure and bringing in business opportunities through our network support and local intelligence, and seeking opportunities for investee companies to expand through M&As to create value for inorganic growth.
Our investment exit strategies are:
- Predetermined exit strategies to maximize the value for shareholders;
- Exit routes including public listings, M&A, structured alternatives and secondary trade sales; and
- Goal of win-win for both investee companies and investors.
